Thanks to Greg for the heads up on Doris Egan’s message. Apparently, Doris, who is an award-winning writer for House, announced that the premiere of House season 7 will be on September 21 at 8:00 pm ET and it will be a 2-hour episode.
So that we can keep track of how long we’ll have to wait for a new episode of House, I’ve placed a handy countdown timer in the right sidebar of this blog. Right now, it’s pretty depressing to see that we have over 100 days to wait!
But I am intrigued by the 2-hour premiere. I can’t help but wonder if it might involve the House/Cuddy relationship as a major component. It will also be interesting to find out whether Wilson & Sam will still be seeing each other. (Can you imagine the fun of the four of them on a double date?)
I also had a funny thought the other day when I was discussing the finale with my friend Cindy. Since Olivia Wilde will be taking a leave of absence from the show in order to film a movie, that will leave a totally testosterone-driven team for House.
What if Sam, who is a doctor by the way, were to temporarily join House’s diagnostic team. Imagine the snarky comments House would throw at her and how it would affect his friendship with Wilson…
Please discuss…

I’ll be honest: I think Huddy is the biggest mistake ever, and I really hope it won’t last long. I don’t watch this show for relationships, and especially not for a ship I don’t support at all. It changes the show so much, I really have a bad feeling about it. I’m really scared that this will be the last season because so far I have only read negative reactions to the development (of course, there were a bunch of Huddy fangirls loving it, but they are by far not the biggest part of the audience). As a fan of the old team, I just hope they bring at least Cameron back. Otherwise even my love for Hugh Laurie won’t bring me back in front of the screen.
well thn ur not a true fan ther r a lot of Huddy fans and it is AWSUM just cuz u dont suport it duznt mean u hav 2 b a pesismist and ruin the fun 4 evr1 else im gesn u wer a hameron fan an ya i dont like that relationship but im not gunna sit here and bash it if u wer a true fan ud stik with it 2 c if thngs did werk out with huddy or if it blows up
Sandra:
I think the Huddy relationship is definitely going to be a train wreck, but I think it will be interesting. There’s no way that a harmonious relationship is in the cards for those two. Sadly, Cuddy is like many of us women…she seems to only choose men that are not good for her…like House. I expect to see some real fireworks and a bit of passion, then a very uncomfortable breakup. It’s got to be tough to be House’s boss after breaking up with him, right?
Well, I am really excited about the news of season 7 even though it doesn’t tell us anything except that the first one will be 2 hour. I don’t know.. I’m not sure that I want Huddy for 2 hours but I agree with Lynn, that it will be interesting. I support Huddy, but I’m not a big fan of too much-about-realationship episode, especially for Huddy. Well, thirteen is not leaving permanantly so I guess it’s ok. Maybe a slight more chance to see Cameron during the season? I’m not sure about anything but I’m sure it will be an awesome 2-hour episode that will open the new season.
Agree with everthing what Sandra said.
My biggest dreams is to see next season premiere after a time leap. House & Cuddy aren’t together anymore.House is back on vicoding, more cynical & depressed then ever. He lives with Wilson, because there’s noone else who can stand him. We get small pieces of flashbacks threough the whole season to find out, what made HCu relationship to fail – like a very difficuld desease diagnosis, that we are searching from one episode th another. House & Cuddy tension is bigger then ever.
Cameron gets to know about this situation 7 comes back, cause she can’t stand house suffering alone. Tons of interesting Chase/Cam/House scenes. 13 is gone forever. Taub goes to serach her…
What? Evrybody is allowd to dream, right?
are you sure the premiere will be on sept 21 coz its tuesday..either you got wrong info or house will be switched back to tuesday
i have heard rumors that it will be 2 hours premiere but no confirmation so far, not even from doris egan (i read in her twitter and she keep referencing that the premiere may be 42 minutes in length) so fingers crossed
anyway cant wait for more HUDDY!
Yeah, where did you get this info? Fox already announced, that House stays on Monday at 8. And Sept 21st (2009) is the airdate of Broken.
So I think this is a false info…
Well, to me the MOST interesting part of House is the awesome chemistry between House and Cuddy, if it wasn’t for the chance of seeing a scene with them every now and then I probably wouldn’t be such a huge fan of the show. ANd the finale was fantastic -the best episode yet – esp as they had managed to keep the final scene a secret. So I am very excited for the season opener – hoping for a 2hr epi! Go Doris!!
@Sandra
I guess you weren’t reading much because a lot of articles in TV guide and EW and other sites and magazines I have seen applauded the end of “Help Me”, ie the House/Cuddy development.
I can’t wait to see House and Cuddy together! It’s gonna be so funny! They are perfect for each other and I think the show will have many situations to explore with this relationship! yeah!
I love Huddy!
For the two hour episode , if there is going to be one , I would like to see the story picked up as the producers left off , either minutes later or the morning after . I would like to see Lucas ‘s reaction to Cuddy leaving him for House , whether it be anger first , then a resigned defeat , or he becomes a total nutso and tries to destroy Cuddy and House , which I sense is going to happen . I would also like to see what ‘s really up with Hadley , if her Huntington’s has become worse or if she’s preggers . Personally , I think Huddy will last awhile , probably until the end of the series , they will have their problems , but not enough for them to separate permanently .
I’m not particular fan o Huddy, but House may not be a romantic show, but there are romance in it since season 1, when Stacy first appeared… I’m curious to see how this relationship will develop, I probably won’t like anyway (I already disliked at the news of the Chameron wedding)
But now, I really wish Sam DOESN’T enter the diagnostics team, I don’t think she will anyway, because Sam and House as far as I know can’t stand each other…
I’m also curious about Chase, Cameron, Foreman and the other’s and if they’ll get any arcs this season, with the Huddy, I fear it will be the ONLY story in it…
And this premiere date (that is indeed a tuesday) and the two hour episode, what do they have to tell in 2hours? I really hope isn’t it… 2 hours of Huddy I’m already disliking it…
Well, found that info on a facebook source. AFAIK it’s someone who has some contacts to the production team. As for the weekday, we will have to wait. Same’s true for the story itself. But another 2-hour ep would be great. As long as the writing’s as good as it was on “Broken”…
Well, everything is in some kind of relationship, be it private or professional. Even the dealings between House and his ducklings is a sort of relationship. But then, this is just my view of things. No matter what the opening episode of season 7 will be about, I hope it won’t we be the last season. After all, there are so many more medical riddles out there…
I like Huddy and would like to see them pursue this relationship in a realistic way. I also hope that the premier of season seven picks up where season six left off.
If the House/Cuddy relationship isn’t going to work then let it fizzle out naturally…i.e., they figure out, like adults, that it won’t work because she is his boss.
But my biggest hope for season seven is that they get back to the business of showcasing Hugh Laurie as House…they lost that a bit this year, except for the season premier and season finale. There’s a reason why this show is called House, and Hugh Laurie is it!
they have a least try to make work if don’t no problem ..
i hope huddy werks out cuz theyv dancd round this 4 a wile and its bout time theyr like perfrct 4 eachothr yeah huddy duznt pik the best guys n othr peeps eyes but mayb hes the best guy 4 her she needs sum1 2 stand up 2 her and obviosly house is perfect 4 that so i thnk that this culd really werk but house needs 2 realize that sinc he loves her he cant screw with her (all the time atleast)thn if he duz that it will werk out fantastic
I don’t understand why some fans want Huddy to fizzle. I don’t want House to end up a bitter old man on drugs who is doomed to die alone. I’ve watched this character for six seasons and I’m too invested in him to want to see him end up alone and bitter and unloved. I want House to be a sober, cocky Sherlock Holmes-brilliant smartass who has met his match in Cuddy. That said, I don’t want a sugar-sweet relationship between them. I want spice and sass and great sex as a side-dish to the main course of great medical mysteries solved by a now sober, and more centered House. Cuddy is House’s Irene Adler and thus, his match in every way. Please House writers give us a real relationship between Cuddy and House, a lasting one that will warm House fans hearts when the show finally does end, so we know that House will be okay and Cuddy will always call him on his crap. I want House and Cuddy to argue alot while at the hospital and then go home and have House cook them dinner and Cuddy give him the kind of loving that makes him weak in the knees. In short, make them have a relationship that is brutally honest, filled with witty, sarcastic dialog, and a few tender moments that make one know that they are perfect for each other. Go Huddy!
I hope the whole season 7 revolves around the newer Greg House and people he’s learning to deal with more maturely while still being the same old a$$-pain to patients and his team. Wilson has turned into a sourpuss and that helped House come around. Cuddy was about to completely cut him out of her life and she realized she couldn’t do it no matter what. Running away form House was her biggest mistake and best move because it forced House to treat her better….right. As for s.7 the complications and plots can also involve hiding the Huddy romance given her boss-employee relationship with House, his childhood abuse at the hands of his stepfather, his leg pain and determining whether or not to lose the painful limb, potential pregnancy and parenthood for Huddy. The diagnostic team trying to find out if House and Cuddy are together, the antics of hiding the relationship from some and not others; the loss of 13, the deepening of the relationships between House and his team; Possibility of opportunists trying to take House or Cuddy’s job over finding out they’re together; oh yeah, and moments of happiness and character evolution. Can’t wait.
Cool suggestions there. I hope some of the writers read this blog and get some ideas from it. For now I hope they pick up where they left last season – just like they did between seasons 5 and 6.
Yeah, good suggestions. But myself I just hope they don’t JUST listen to the dumbasses that comment on their twitters. I know probably season 7 (or at least first half of it) will probably revolve around the Huddy, but I hope so much that there are other arcs on it… 13-why she left, Taub-his marriage, Foreman-his brother, Chase-there are so much that still can be done with his last arc and the ending of his marriage with Cameron… and oh Yeah BRING CAMERON BACK… I know I dreamer…
Hello All….
WOW, Greg! Or is it really? Well my boss is just like you (in House), nut he uses more harming words. I’d love to chat.
Mike
