Now that the House cast is on hiatus, along with most of the primetime shows, the Band From TV is planning a big new charity gig. As you know, both Hugh Laurie and Jesse Spencer are part of this band that gives 100% of their performance proceeds to charities. Hugh plays keyboards and does some singing, Jesse plays the electric violin.
If you haven’t ever seen them perform live, this is your big chance! They’ll be playing at Club Nokia LA Live on May 11th to benefit A Place Called Home. A Place Called Home is a non-profit youth center in central LA that provides at-risk youth with a secure, positive family environment where they can regain hope and belief–free of the gangs, drugs and poverty that surround them. Ticket information is on this web site.
And if any of you do go to this concert, I’d love it if you could send me photos that I can post for everyone to see.
While in Madrid, Spain recently, Lisa Edelstein was a guest on a Spanish TV Show, El Hormiguero. I’m guessing that she was there to promote House. It looks like it had to be a fun adventiure!

On Saturday, the Writers’ Guild of America held their annual awards ceremony. House star Hugh Laurie and executive producer David Shore were presenters together for the event.
Hugh has been a presenter in previous WGA Awards ceremonies, but this time, he was joined by David. They both looked very distinguished and their discussion on stage must have been funny, because this photo looks like there’s some humor involved:
Hugh Laurie’s best friend Stephen Fry will be a guest on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.
First of all, I must tell you that I’m a huge Craig Ferguson fan, but with Stephen Fry on the show, it’s going to be even more fun. I can’t wait to see their combined humor. It should be a blast! You won’t want to miss it!
The show airs on Wednesday, February 24 on CBS at 12:35 am ET. Check your local listings to be sure in your area.
House fans, be sure to watch Friday’s edition of Real Time With Bill Maher. Olivia Wilde will be a guest on the show and it should be interesting. The show is a combination of humor and political commentary, usually with guests on both sides of the political fence.
They usually take the topics in the news and discuss them from multiple points of view and from a diverse group of guests. For example, they’ll have a politician, a journalist and an actor or comedian. Or a combination that’s similarly interesting. I look forward to seeing what Olivia has to say.
The show airs on Friday nights on HBO at 10:00 pm ET Be sure to record it or watch it!
Many thanks to Andrea for the heads up on this one! Fans of Family Guy will be delighted to know that this week’s episode will have Hugh Laurie as a guest voice, playing House MD. I have to admit that I’ve never even watched Family Guy, so I really don’t even know what to say about the plot, but if Hugh is on the episode as the voice of House, it’s got to be a classic! Be sure to tune in!
Here’s the press release for the episode:

Here’s the interview that House star Olivia Wilde did last week with David Letterman. It’s very cute. He asks her about being married to an Italian prince. He has a lot of fun with the fact that she lived with him in a school bus in Venice, California.
It’s funny when she tells how she would be picked up in a limo to go to the set of her series and she would get off a school bus. And imagine having people all over the world shout a number as your name. It’s a cute clip:
Here’s the two-part Hugh Laurie interview with Jay Leno that aired a few days ago. It starts off with a very funny discussion of sitting styles.
They discussed the season premiere of House and how the success makes Hugh nervous. Hugh even talks a bit about the snakes photo shoot. It’s a fun clip:
Here’s the second part of the Hugh Laurie interview and in it, he plays the piano and sings a song for us. He also dispels the rumor that he would leave the show (thank goodness!!) It’s a classic:
This week, Jennifer Morrison was interviewed by Carson Daly about her role on House. There was no mention of her leaving the show, but she did say at one point that her character would be back on the team “for a while” in the beginning of this season. It’s a little vague, but who knows if she already knew about her character’s departure at the time of the interview.
She also talks a bit about Kal Penn’s exit from House and about one of her new passions, introduced to her by her boyfriend Amaury Nolasco. She goes into a bit of depth about how she has been affected by playing Dr. Cameron on the show and is overall extremely charming in the interview. Check this out:
