Among the many, many fans that love House, there are those of us who always record the show and watch it later, when we know we will be uninterrupted. And if I particularly loved a scene, I can back it up and watch that scene again. Don’t even ask how much easier it is when I do recaps…
So when I saw this report in Advertising Age this week, I just had to share it with you. The advertisers think it’s a bad thing for people to timeshift the show because they are less likely to watch the commercials. Even if they do watch them, they may not be timely by the time they are watched. That means wasted ad dollars. And it could mean less dollars for the show. Yikes!
I don’t know what to suggest, since I timeshift practically everything I watch on TV. But if you do see the commercials when you watch House, be sure to try to support the sponsors so the show continues to do well.
