HOUSE AND CUDDY CALL IN SICK ON THE SEASON PREMIERE OF “HOUSE” MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, ON FOX
In the aftermath of last season’s emotional finale in which House and Cuddy admitted they had feelings for each other, as Season Seven begins, they are exploring the ramifications of those feelings and attempting to make a real relationship work. Meanwhile, due to a colleague’s illness, Princeton Plainsboro is left without a neurosurgeon on site, threatening the hospital’s accreditation as a Level 1 Trauma Center. As the team attempts treatment to get their sick colleague back to work, they discover there is more to the illness than they originally suspected and turn to House for direction. Instead, House remains elusive, leaving the team on its own in the “Now What?” season premiere episode of HOUSE airing Monday, Sept. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOU-701) (TV-14 D, L, S)

Here’s a quick bit of an interview that Michael Ausiello did with House star Hugh Laurie at the Emmy Awards Sunday evening:
Question: Where is the Hugh Laurie interview you promised us from the Emmys?! House fans are an impatient lot! —Gillian Ausiello: First off, simmer yourself. I’ve had a lot on my plate the past few days, if you hadn’t noticed. Second, the interview is RIGHT. HERE. Ausiello: So they’re finally going there with Huddy. HUGH LAURIE: It seems that way. Ausiello: Scared? LAURIE: I’m scared for him. Terrified. But so far so good. Baby steps. Ausiello: Are you happy they finally took the plunge? LAURIE: I care less about what happens than how it happens. And if you do it right, it will work. And if we don’t do it right, nothing works. But I think we’ve danced around the idea long enough, it was time to take some action. Ausiello: Is it safe to say that if it doesn’t work with Huddy it won’t work with anyone? LAURIE: That’s a possibility. He might be fatally flawed. [Source: EW]

In these two House season 7 promotional videos, we get a lot more to enjoy. In promo clip #8, we get a look back at the House/Cuddy relationship from season 1 to now. A couple of these were among my favorite quotes from House. There’s even a spoiler included! Check this out:
And in this one, House faces two little, old men in the clinic. I love his snide comment…
Here are the first seven promotional videos for House season 7. Each is a touch different than the rest, and they all give us some fun scenes with House and Cuddy, as well as House with his team:

With the various opinions out there about the “Huddy” (House/Cuddy) relationship, I decided to chime in with my own thoughts on the Huddy developments for season 7.
First, I don’t consider myself a Huddy fan, or hater. I just love House, the show. The House and Cuddy characters have been dancing around their feelings for each other for six years now. It seems fitting that they’ll try to give the romance a go. However, I can’t imagine that it will work out well.
Both of them carry some pretty huge emotional baggage, and Cuddy is House’s boss. That’s never a good situation.
No, I expect the relationship portion of the show to be a lot like watching a train wreck. It’s dramatic and painful, but impossible to look away.
I also expect the dynamic between House and Cuddy to continue to be combative when it comes to the crazy tests House will want her to approve. Can you imagine the ways he’s going to try to get her to do what he wants? LOL!
Like it or not, the House/Cuddy relationship has been a part of the show from the beginning. It will have to continue to be so. Just like Wilson’s relationship to House has evolved over time, so too will the Huddy relationship. But I can’t imagine that the PTB will move the show completely away from the cases, the team’s workings or any other important piece of the show.
Besides, who knows how long the Huddy relationship will last? It could be a very fast sizzle, then fizzle out. Who knows? Let’s just go along for the ride and enjoy it.
We owe Judith a ton of thanks for the tip about these photos!
It looks like production has begun for House season 7. In a large online gallery of photos, we see some behind the scenes as well as a scene with House and Cuddy kissing on a beach. Check out the site!
Are you a Huddy fan? Or would you love to see Cameron back as a regular on House? Well, here are some ways you can share your House fanship. There are even t-shirts to show your love of the Hilson relationship:
With House season 6 over, it’s time for us to take a closer look at the events from the season. And it never hurts to find out what you think about things. I am always forthcoming with my opinions, but I value yours too. So feel free to comment and vote in the polls.
I’ll be posting polls about the season that was for a few days, so be sure to come back for more!
In season 6, we saw to major breakups and one near-break-up among the Doc-lings. We saw Foreteen (Thirteen & Foreman) break up and the aftermath wasn’t always easy for them. It added an interesting side story to much of the season. But the two are definitely very different and it’s no surprise that their relationship hit the skids.
Taub and his wife had to deal with his previous cheating and the fact that he still wanted to cheat. In spite of it, his wife didn’t dump him. I have to say that I like the Taub character much less after seeing the way he treats his wife. What do you think?
But by far, the most shocking and upsetting breakup of the season was Chase & Cameron. I was totally surprised when the two actually got married, since the actors that play them used to be engaged and had broken up. It had to be emotionally difficult for them to play the parts of a married couple. But why did Cameron have to leave Princeton-Plainsboro?
There was also the breakup between Cuddy and Lucas. I would have felt a bit more satisfied if we had been able to see the breakup, but at least it finally happened.
Since Cameron could go back to leading the ER department, she wouldn’t have to be a part of the regular team, but could still be part of the stories. I hate it that her character left the show. I’m seriously hoping that she returns in at least a few episodes in season 7….especially since Olivia Wilde, who plays Thirteen, will be taking a leave of absence. I truly feel that the team needs a little feminine energy. What are your thoughts?

Thanks to Greg for the heads up on Doris Egan’s message. Apparently, Doris, who is an award-winning writer for House, announced that the premiere of House season 7 will be on September 21 at 8:00 pm ET and it will be a 2-hour episode.
So that we can keep track of how long we’ll have to wait for a new episode of House, I’ve placed a handy countdown timer in the right sidebar of this blog. Right now, it’s pretty depressing to see that we have over 100 days to wait!
But I am intrigued by the 2-hour premiere. I can’t help but wonder if it might involve the House/Cuddy relationship as a major component. It will also be interesting to find out whether Wilson & Sam will still be seeing each other. (Can you imagine the fun of the four of them on a double date?)
I also had a funny thought the other day when I was discussing the finale with my friend Cindy. Since Olivia Wilde will be taking a leave of absence from the show in order to film a movie, that will leave a totally testosterone-driven team for House.
What if Sam, who is a doctor by the way, were to temporarily join House’s diagnostic team. Imagine the snarky comments House would throw at her and how it would affect his friendship with Wilson…
Please discuss…
IMPORTANT!! Don’t read any further until you watch this week’s season finale of House!! (I have to say it, since so many of us record the show and watch it later.)
After seeing Cuddy and House get together in the finale, I know most of us have tons of questions about where they’ll go from here. And Michael Ausiello at E! Online had those questions too. He talked to Katie Jacobs, one of the executive producers for House. Here’s what they discussed:
That was one hell of a final scene. What should we take away from it? KATIE JACOBS: This is real and something that they are going to try. It’s something they stayed away from for a long period of time because it’s dangerous and the consequences could be severe. But now they’re going to give it a try. They’re going to make a go of a relationship? JACOBS: Absolutely. Yes. What are we led to believe happened after the screen faded to black? JACOBS: That’s exactly the conversation we had. Does the audience want us to pick up two or three months later? Or is the audience interested in us [picking up right where we left off]? And it’s really dependent on the narrative. Last year when House checked himself into the psychiatric hospital, I felt like it wouldn’t be good enough for the audience just to see him come out the other end and [return] to Princeton Plainsboro. Even though they knew he would [eventually] return there, I wanted everybody to see the moment after. So which scenario will you choose this time around? JACOBS: Put it this way… I’m certainly in the camp of not wanting to miss much after the fade to black. Because the truth is the challenges that are ahead for them are the things that kept them apart to begin with. It’s not chemistry or the spark. It’s “How are we going to deal with this? We’re going to be together. What does that look like?” Cuddy is his superior at the hospital. And she’s a mother. Those are the kind of things we’re going to have fun with. I could be wrong but I think Huddy fans want to see a real, non-hallucinatory sex scene. JACOBS: I get it. We’re in the process of figuring all that out right now, so I don’t have an answer. But this isn’t just about the [season premiere]. This isn’t something that will work or fail in just one episode. We’re going to attempt to make a true exploration of this relationship. Were you on set when that last scene was shot? JACOBS: Yes. It was amazing. Our prop guy, Eddie, had tears in his eyes. You never know how people are going to react to the story, but seeing Eddie with tears in his eyes and happy with the fact that House and Cuddy were finally going to give it a try was very satisfying.
